The Big V recently held their Awards Night for the 2018 season.

With our two teams, Youth League Two Men and Women both having great years in the clubs return to the Big V we were well represented in the list of award nominees.

Despite finishing on top of the Youth League Two ladder (and eventually going on to win the Youth League Two Championship) there were no players from our Youth League Two Men’s side nominated for the All-Star Five.

This is a testament to the depth of talent in the side and the cohesion within the playing group, for which much of the credit must go to Head Coach, Glen Eames who was awarded the Youth League Two Men’s Coach of the year title for 2018. The Blues Men were also represented by Ryan Wells who was awarded the Defensive Player of The Year.

Congratulations to both Glen and Ryan and again to the entire playing group for a fantastic season!

Our Frankston Blues Youth League Two Women were strongly represented after having finished 3rd on the ladder and playing some of their best basketball at the right time of the year to make it all the way to the Grand Final.

Head Coach Byron Carpenter was nominated and eventually went on to win the Coach of The Year award for 2018.

The Youth League Two Women’s All-Star 5 feature two Frankston Blues players in Kassie Boorer and Tori Jackson and Abby Chernishoff was crowned the Defensive Player of the Year.

Congratulations to Byron, Kassie, Tori, Abby and the entire playing group for a fantastic season.
