As announced in late 2018, the Frankston Blues senior representative men’s & women’s teams will compete in the inaugural Basketball Victoria managed NBL1 season, following Basketball Australia’s decision to dissolve the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) in late 2018.

Blues Chairperson Chris Beattie believes the new league will continue to provide a high-level of entrainment for Blues fans saying “the league brings together the biggest clubs from Victoria along with Albury; Centre of Excellence; and Tasmanian clubs Hobart, North West and Launceston.

As a long standing member of the SEABL, our fans will be familiar with many of the clubs included in the new league along with the opportunity for our fans to welcome clubs who have joined the new league from Big V State Championship to the #HouseOfBlues in season 2019”.

Andrew Harms enters his second season leading the senior Blues men’s program as Head Coach. As a former Blues standout, winning multiple SEABL championships with Frankston and later Dandenong, Coach Harms continues to shape the men’s program, providing our fans with glimpses last season of the exciting times ahead for the Blues men’s program.

In 2019 the club welcomes Jess May to the position of senior Women’s Head Coach after the departure of former Head Coach Simon Mitchell to the NBL’s newest franchise, the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

“Jess is a coach on the rise” is how club Chairperson Chris Beattie describes May’s appointment saying “the club is extremely excited about Jess leading our women’s program. In her short time with the club, Jess has gained everyone’s respect in how she approaches the game and know our women’s senior program is in good hands” Beattie said.

Returning in season 2019, Blues Basketball Media’s Damian Arsenis will continue to lead Blues Basketball Media’s game night digital broadcast. As the anchor for all senior representative home games, Damian will be providing play by play commentary, along with weekly analysis as part of Blues Basketball Media’s new programming format, for our viewers at home.
