Bozeman to Blues Backcourt
Following the announcement of the return of Daniel Trist to the ‘Frankston RSL’ Blues Men, Head Coach Andrew Harms has recruited to his backcourt 24 year-old Damon Bozeman for the 2019 NBL1 season.
Hailing from Detroit Michigan, Bozeman attended Saginaw Valley State University (GLIAC NCAA Division II) where he averaged 14.7 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.4 spg. over 4 years.
Following his college career Bozeman hopped on a plane to Australia to play for the Bulleen Boomers (Big V Division I) in 2017 averaging a huge 30 ppg, 9 rpg, 2 apg shooting 48% from the field.
This saw him receive an invitation to spend preseason with Melbourne United (NBL) playing exhibition matches against Texas Longhorns, Wisconsin Badgers and China.
In 2018 Damon went north to play for Toowoomba Mountaineers (QBL), again averaging big numbers with 33 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 4.2 apg.
“Damon brings elite point guard skills to our squad in 2019. With game changing speed, high end offensive abilities coupled with a desire to play defense, we are excited to see Damon running our team from the point guard position this year.” said an eager Andrew Harms.
“We see Damon combining with Daniel Trist to create a formidable pairing and feel he will bring out the best in our other key signings in 2019.”
“Furthermore, Damon’s passion for working with young people will be another great asset to the Frankston basketball community.”
Blues Basketball Media’s Damian Arsenis will be catching up with Damon in the near future to talk about the season ahead.
