‘Powerade’ Youth League Women’s season kicks off this weekend, as they look to take out a championship in Division 2 for 2019.

BLUES BASKETBALL MEDIA caught up with Championship Runner-Up head coach Byron Carpenter for some insight to the squad’s pre-season and whats to come.

“Pre-Season has been a lot of on court work along with with the senior NBL1 team and weekly sessions with the Frankston Blues Strength and Conditioning team.

We have had 3 practice games against Big V Youth league 1 and Youth League Championship teams, all with great results and growth as a group.”

With very few players ageing out of Youth League, Byron has managed to continue with a core group.

“We have the majority of players from last year returning including our Big V League All Star 5 players Kassie and Tori as well as our Defensive Player of the Year Abby.

We have added 3 Blues juniors who took a year off last year and two who have come from other clubs.

We can look forward to seeing our players that have come through the Blues juniors playing at a senior level and showing the pathway that exists at Frankston.”
