‘Powerade’ Blues Women prepared to take on Tigers

The ‘Powerade’ Frankston Blues Women have their sights on a first win for the season this Sunday as they take on Melbourne Tigers at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic (MSAC), after last weekend’s tough start to the season going down to Waverley Falcons (62-74).

Last week Steph Reid lead the Blues filling the stat sheet scoring 22 points along with 6 boards, 3 assists and 4 steals. Wile Tegan Fowler came away with 9 points and 10 boards, Saraid Taylor 10 points, but it was young 17 year old Kassie Boorer that surprised many with a spark in the second quarter, coming away with 9 points.

Melbourne Tigers last weekend lost to SEABL 2018 champions Bendigo Braves (65-78). Lead by Louella Tomlinson got her first double double of the season with 15 points and 16 boards and Monique Conti came away with 13 points.

Watch out for the Reid/Conti matchup.

The Powerade Frankston Blues take on the Melbourne Tigers in round 2 of the 2019 NBL1 season at away this Sunday, 7 April 2019 as part of a double-header with the men. The women’s game tips off at 12:00pm at MSAC, which will also be streamed LIVE on the NBL’s YouTube channel accessible via the game centre link below.
