Strength & Conditioning School Holiday Camp (April 2019)
Regional Academy today hosted its first School Holiday Elite Camp for April 2019 with the Strength and Conditioning Camp.
The camp was run by Frankston Blues’ Strength and Conditioning Coach Jay Ellis.
Running for 3 hours the session explored:
- Warm up protocol including foam rolling technique, dynamic movements, central nervous system preparation
- Performance testing: 10m sprint, vertical leap, upper body power
- Plyometrics and sprint technique training
- Strength training
- Basketball specific conditioning
Frankston Basketball Programs Coordinator Jarryd Moss was pleased with the camps’ return.
“This is now the third time we have run this camp. It was a great opportunity to introduce these training methods to athletes that were new strength and conditioning, but also refine techinques with those that had participated in a session previously.”
Regional Academy will be running more School Holiday Elite Camps next week.
