‘FRANKSTON RSL’ FRANKSTON BLUES MEN NBL1 ROUND 6 RECAP
With both teams sitting on sub-50% records heading into the clash, Frankston (3-4) welcomed Eltham (2-5) to the Frankston Basketball Stadium on Saturday night for a game that would have huge implications on both clubs’ seasons.
The Blues were slow out of the blocks and faced a seven-point half-time deficit after scoring only 17 first-quarter points. Frankston rallied and locked in on the defensive end coming out of the half, allowing Eltham to score just 28 points combined across the third and fourth periods to run out 86-75 winners.
Lachlan Barker (4/8 3-point) found scoring a breeze for the Blues, as he accounted for 22 of his side’s 86 points. While Damon Bozeman (13 points), Dan Trist (11 points) and Tom Garrett – who scored 10 points in 11 minutes of court time – were all productive.
With the win, Frankston square the ledger at 4-4, while Eltham slide further to 2-6 leading into their Sunday afternoon matchup with the undefeated Ballarat Miners.
