Frankston have made short work of the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence to continue their push towards the top end of the NBL1 table. Separated by just one place on the ladder headed into the matchup, the Blues showed they were a class above the BA CoE, overcoming a slow start to record a 100-78 road victory.

Basketball Australia jumped out to a seven-point lead at quarter time, but a devastating 33-12 second term for Frankston saw the Blues holding a 14-point buffer at the main break.
The CoE clawed the margin back by three in the third period, but another lopsided quarter in the fourth allowed Frankston to run out 22-point winners.

Frankston had even contributions from all five starters. Dan Trist (21 points), Najeal Young (19 points), Damon Bozeman (17 points), Lachlan Barker (16 points) and Igor Hadziomerovic (14 points) were all in double-digits scoring. Joshua Bannan (17 points) and Hyunjung Lee (14 points) put up some resistance but turnovers were an issue for the BA CoE, committing 19 to Frankston’s 11.

Frankston will carry momentum into their Round 11 matchup with fellow top 4 hopefuls Dandenong, while the BA CoE will face a tough task as they try to recover against Melbourne.
